Additional high head pump usage cases include: tank cleaning, sand extraction, tunneling, irrigation.
When the sewage level begins to rise the BA bypass pump automatically starts up. The vacuum assisted system quickly draws up the liquid until the main pump takes over. Once the level in the sewer line falls back down, the diesel engine comes to a stop again. This efficient operation keeps your fuel costs down and ensures that wear is kept to a minimum.

These multi-use pumps cater to diverse industries and sectors, proving to be indispensable for various applications. The robust construction and advanced features of BBA Pumps' BA series make them particularly well-suited for the following sectors:
Well Point Pumps
During a construction site dewatering it is key to have the best well point pump for controlling the groundwater table. The PT series wellpoint and sock dewatering pumps are the best choice around for ensuring a dry construction pit. These pumps are typically supplied diesel driven and with a sound attenuated canopy. Video set up well point system. The perfect choiceÂ
- Impressive suction lift with a vacuum up to 32 feet
- Very low maintenance thanks to service intervals of up to 1500 hours
- High fuel efficiency with a maximum of 0.4 gallon/hour on the PT150 well point pumpÂ
- Extended working life the PT pump will still be going strong decades after purchase
How a well point dewatering pump worksÂ
The PT well point pumps are positive displacement pumps and fully self-priming. They can cope with any combination of air and water, with no need for a separate priming system. As soon as the pump is attached to a well point dewatering system, you just need to start the engine and you can head off home. The pump produces a vacuum via the header pipe and starts to reduce the groundwater level. Watch the Dutch dewatering video to discover for yourself the lowest cost method for creating a perfectly dry construction pit.Groundwater control through sock dewateringÂ
Here a long drainage pipe is dug horizontally into the ground. BBA Pumps products drive the operation above ground. From flow meters, non-return valves, weir tanks to pipelines and of course the PT sock dewatering pumps.Flood Pumps
In order to remove large volumes of water during times of flooding you need the help of a high flow flood control pump. Being able to respond quickly during heavy rainfall, a storm water pump on a trailer will work well. In such challenging circumstances you can always rely on the engine driven flood and storm water pumps from the BA series.Benefits for you
- Easy handling thanks to the compact design and lightweight mobile units
- High volume pumping with maximum flows to 34,000 US GPM
- Fast priming and re-priming due to the inbuilt vacuum assisted system
- No noise due to the BBA Pumps sound attenuated canopy
High flow pumps at workÂ
Large mobile water pumps can be used in a wide and different range of applications. They can be used for flood control or as a dewatering pump during dredging projects. High Pressure and Mining Pumps
The BA series mobile high head pumping systems – with pressures of up to 670 feet (290 psi) – are vacuum assisted and can be delivered with either a diesel engine or an electric motor. These pumps are typically deployed in high pressure applications.ÂDredging and Construction
We have a wealth of experience in the supply of diesel driven jet water pumps for the deep excavation of wet construction pits. This dredging technology is used in tunneling projects or during the construction of underground parking garages. Case study underwater excavation »ÂQuarry and Mine Dewatering
To best serve the needs of the mining market segment where a complete skid and/or canopy is unnecessary, BBA Pumps supplies a bolt-on pump package. These units include the BA pump as specified by you and fitted to a diesel engine with the priming system included.Fire Fighting and Emergency
Mobile high pressure pumps are critically important for disaster relief, both on and offshore. One of the most important projects in the history of BBA Pumps was the supply of nine fire fighting pumps to a European nuclear power plant. The mobile pumps were delivered completely customized and with no less than 132 certificates for each pump. Case study emergency fire fighting pumps »Additional high head pump usage cases include: tank cleaning, sand extraction, tunneling, irrigation.
Sewer Bypass Pumps
When making repairs to a sewer line, wastewater is handled by sewer bypass pumps. Having a reliable and trusted temporary pump installation is of real importance during bypass projects. In such cases you are in safe hands with a BA series diesel driven dry prime pump. Our sewage (trash) pumps are sound attenuated or skid mounted and can also be supplied on pump trailers.Customer benefits:
- Low energy costs thanks to the pumps efficiency and automatic start-stop function
- Minimal clogging due to the large solids handling and self-cleaning wear plate
- Silent operation thanks to the BBA Pumps sound attenuated canopy
- Quick priming and re-priming via the built-in vacuum assisted system
How does a BA sewer bypass pump work?
The engine driven sewage pumps from the BA series are fitted as standard with all the necessary features required for bypass jobs. Once the dry prime pump and piping are installed, simply turn the key in the dashboard to "auto" and you can head home.

Dewatering Pumps
Dewatering refers to the process of removing excess surface water or groundwater. Draining unwanted water from areas affected by flooding or excessive waterlogging. It's a common practice in construction sites and mining operations where water impedes work efficiency.Portable Pumps for Dewatering
Involving the use of portable pumps and piping systems, the size and capacity of dewatering equipment depend on the water volume and the total pumping distance. These centrifugal pumps need to be resistant to wear and requires a large solids handling to prevent damage or clogging. Sand particles and waste is often found in surface water. BBA Pumps offers a variety of diesel driven portable pumps specifically designed for dewatering jobs. Contact us now to learn more or ask for a free quote.Multi-Use Pumps
